Synopsis

The Warden is dead, but there’s no time for Roux to savor the victory. She has a long-lost book to find, her slaughtered family to avenge, and a betrayer to kill. The hunt takes her through sprawling cities and enchanted forests filled with people from her past she thought she’d never see again, but they haven’t forgotten her. When Silva arrives to help, she finds herself torn between the hunt or a life with him. He starts asking questions that she isn’t ready to answer and she’s forced to face everything she’s run from. The past might not be so easy to bury and monsters rarely die quietly.
Lord Lurec is dead…though his murder didn’t go exactly as planned. Silva has taken his place as Lord of Ayncuarst Estate, but can’t resist going after Roux with Henry at his side. Writing the story
This story was the opposite of the first in so many ways. I struggled with the direction it was going so many times, I didn't have a title until long after it was complete, and it refused almost all editing I tried to force on it. I started writing it right after finishing the first book, wanting to get down at least the first few pages, so I'd have a place to start after taking a break from writing. But when I started writing again, the ending eluded me and the characters felt unfocused. It took a while to find their goals, the twists, and the eventual ending that I'm quite happy with.
As I was writing, I realized there were only two ways this story could end. I hope you enjoy the journey and the ending the characters chose. They definitely surprised me.
